Journalists Welfare Scheme (also known as Journalists Welfare Fund) was introduced in the year 2005 to provide immediate relief to the Journalist members in distress.

Salient features of the Scheme:

For the scheme a corpus of Rs One Lakh was raised from the funds of Press Club of Jammu. This scheme is open for all Journalist members of the club and every Journalist member has to contribute Rs 600 per annum. (Rs 50 every month).
Every member has to deposit the amount along with annual subscription of the Club.
The Journalists Welfare Scheme (Journalists Welfare Fund) provides cash relief to the distressed Journalist members. The Scheme provides the financial assistance to the needy Journalist Members for their treatment of major diseases like; Cancer, Cardiac surgery & Kidney transplant, Brain Tumor, Liver & Multi Organ failure etc.
In case of distress, Journalist members will be given an assistance upto 50,000 depending upon the seriousness of the illness.
The Scheme will be applicable to Journalist members only and does not cover any individual's family.
The Managing Committee will have the option/ discretion either to manage the fund by itself or to constitute a Committee for this purpose.
The Managing Committee shall have the right to increase the contribution money and assistance amount. The Managing Committee can also change or review the rules of the Scheme.
