Management

The Management Committee of Press Club Of Jammu is an excellent team of working journalists representing different media houses. The team is headed by Ashwani Kumar and supported by young and enthusiastic journalists of repute. The new management committee offers a mix of experience and expertise to carry forward the agenda of welfare of working journalists.

This team was handed over the mandate by esteemed members of the Press Club during recently concluded elections. The team is committed to implement its agenda of bringing reform and transparency in the daily routine and management of Press club.Management Commiittee is also committed to take along view point of its members in stride and believe in evolving consensus on issues of importance especially concerning welfare of journalists.


  Ashwani Kumar (President)

A familiar and popular face in national media, Ashwani Kumar has experience of more than three decades in both electronic and print media. Presently, heading Aaj Tak TV and India Today bureau in Jammu. He had visited Pakistan and PoK thrice and he was first TV journalist ,who visited Gilgit after 1947, when group of journalists visited Gilgit in 2004. Ashwani Kumar, had also worked for The Tribune in his earlier days and also having experience of working with various reputed national and international agencies/newspapers in past including AFP (Agence France Presse), France.

Ashwani Kumar, is also a founder member of Press Club of Jammu and has served Press Club of Jammu as Secretary General twice and member managing committee (twice).

     
  Abhimanyu Sharma (Vice President)

A popular name in journalism in Jammu and Kashmir who is also known for his integrity, ethics and excellence in field of Journalism, Abhimanyu Sharma has an experience of more than two and half decades in both electronic and print journalism. Presently serving as Editor of Dainik Jagran(J&K), one of the largest circulated Hindi dailies in India, Abhimanyu Sharma has worked with major publishing houses including Kashmir Times and electronic media too.

Mr Sharma was part of the Indian journalists' delegation which accompanied the then President Mrs. Pratibha Patil to her official visit to Mangolia and Korea in 2011. He also visited Singapore with the top Indian official delegation. He is also a founder member of Press Club of Jammu. Mr Sharma who is also a well known literary name, has been associated with various social and literary activities in the state.

     
  Zorawar Singh Jamwal (Secretary General)

Young and dynamic face in media, Zorawar Singh Jamwal, has experience of about two decades in print journalism. Presently working as a free lance journalist, Zorawar Singh started his career from Kashmir Times, followed by Indian Express Group. Zorawar then moved to Punjab and was associated with The Hindustan Times there. He has also contributed to renowned International Agency Associated Press.
Zorawar Singh Jamwal, has also served Press Club of Jammu as Treasurer (once) and member managing committee (once).

     
  Dinesh Manhotra (Secretary Finance)

Quite familiar name with the Journalistic fraternity in Jammu, Dinesh Manhotra has experience of about one and a half decades in print media. Presently, he is associated with The Tribune as Senior Correspondent. Dinesh Manhotra has also served as Press Club as Member Managing Committee once.

  Vishal Bharti

Vishal, an emerging and dedicated journalist has experience of about one and half decades in print journalism. Dedicated for welfare of journalists, Vishal is presently associated with premier news agency UNI. Vishal has also been associated with various local and national newspapers.

     
  Dinesh Mahajan

Dinesh, yet another emerging crime and investigative journalist is a full time journalist associated with Dainik Jagran. Dinesh, started his career with Early Times in 2004 and then switched over to The Latest then to Amar Ujala and now is associated with leading National Hindi News Paper Dainik Jagran, as senior correspondent.

     
  Nishikant Khajuria

Nishikant, is a working journalist with professional experience of around two decades. Presently, he is associated with Daily Excelsior as Special Correspondent.

     
  Pawan Sharma

Pawan, a popular face in TV journalism in Jammu, is presently heading IBN-7 in Jammu. Having experience of more than one and a half decade, Pawan is very familiar for his reporting. Earlier associated with Danik Jagran, Pawan is also a journalist who also contributes towards welfare of journalists and a familiar theatre artist also. Pawan also contributes for Delhi based magazine Fouji Jharokha and also is approved singer and drama actor with All India Radio and Doordarshan.

     
 

Deepak Khajuria

Deepak is a young and emerging journalist and a popular face among journalists in Jammu, is associated with News World India TV Channel as Bureau Head. Deepak has experience of working with both TV and Print Media since last one and half decade and has been associated with reputed organisations like Amar Ujala, The Hindustan Times, The Tribune, The Indian Express and then shifted to electronic media with Day and Night News.

     
  Ajay Bachloo

Ajay, is another familiar face in TV Journalism in Jammu, who is presently heading ABP NEWS in Jammu. Having an experience of more than one and a half decade, Ajay started his career with Kashmir Times and then shifted to TV and served AAJ TAK and STAR NEWS.

     
  Surjeet Singh

Surjeet is known photo journalist of Jammu and has experience of twenty years. He had also worked with Hindustan Times, Jagran and IBN7. At present, he is working with Daily Ajeet Samachar and Northlines, Jammu.
