Management

The Management Committee of Press Club Of Jammu is an excellent team of working journalists representing different media houses. The team is headed by Sanjeev Pargal and supported by young and enthusiastic journalists of repute. The new management committee offers a mix of experience and expertise to carry forward the agenda of welfare of working journalists.

This team was handed over the mandate by esteemed members of the Press Club during recently concluded elections. The team is committed to implement its agenda of bringing reform and transparency in the daily routine and management of Press club.Management Commiittee is also committed to take along view point of its members in stride and believe in evolving consensus on issues of importance especially concerning welfare of journalists.


  Sanjeev Pargal - President

Veteran journalist Sanjeev Pargal needs no introduction among the journalistic fraternity of J&K. Having a vast experience of more than three decades in journalism, Pargal is currently associated with the largest circulated English Daily of J&K 'Daily Excelsior' as Bureau Chief. He is the recipient of State Award, 'Best Legislature Coverage Award' (twice) and Reliance People's Choice Award. Pargal has also received the 'Journalist of the Year' Award constituted by Prof RK Chhibber Memorial Trust while he was also conferred with 'Community Icon Award' for his contribution in the field of print media. Earlier, he served as an Executive Committee Member of the Press Club of Jammu.

     
  Zorawar Singh Jamwal - Vice President

A popular and dynamic face in media circles of J&K, Zorawar Singh Jamwal has experience of about two decades in print journalism. Presently working as a free lance journalist, Zorawar Singh started his career from Kashmir Times, followed by Indian Express Group. Zorawar then moved to Punjab and was associated with The Hindustan Times there. He has also contributed to renowned International Agency Associated Press. Zorawar Singh Jamwal has also served Press Club of Jammu as Secretary General (once) Treasurer (once) and Executive Committee Member (once).

     
  Dinesh Manhotra - Secretary General

Quite a familiar name with the journalistic fraternity in Jammu & Kashmir, Dinesh Manhotra has experience of over two decades in print media. Presently, he is working as a freelancer with the 'International Business Times'. Earlier he worked for the largest circulated English daily of J&K 'Daily Excelsior' as Special Correspondent and remained associated with 'The Tribune' as Principal Correspondent.  Previously, Dinesh Manhotra has served the Press Club of Jammu as Treasurer (once) and Executive Committee Member (once).

     
  Channi Anand - Secretary Finance (Treasurer)

Channi Anand is an ace photojournalist of J&K. Anand began his career as a photojournalist with leading English daily 'State Times' in the year 1998. He currently works as a photojournalist for the US based news agency Associated Press (AP). Channi Anand also worked for Hindi daily 'Amar Ujala' as well as news magazines 'India Today' and 'The Week' while he also remained associated with local English daily 'JK Newspoint'. He also won the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 2020 for his pictures. Earlier, he served as an Executive Committee Member of Press Club of Jammu from 2009 to 2015.

  Ajay Meenia

With his energetic ways of working, Ajay Meenia has carved a niche for himself in the journalistic circles of J&K. Meenia is currently associated with the national Hindi daily 'Amar Ujala' since 2012 as a Crime Reporter initially and Senior Sub- Editor subsequently. He began his career with national Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran' in the year 2004.  He has also worked in 'Early Times', 'Dainik Bhaskar' and 'Punjab Kesari'.

     
  Deepak Khajuria

Deepak Khajuria is an acclaimed name in the Print/TV/Digital journalism in J&K. Khajuria is presently working as a Managing Editor in recently launched Digital Media House, ‘The News Square’. He has an experience of 18 years of reporting in J&K. Earlier, he also served in various newspapers including 'Hindustan Times', 'Indian Express' and 'Amar Ujala', besides TV news channels like 'Day and Night News' and 'Navtej TV'. He is also a trainer for Google News Initiative (GNI), India to conduct trainings to counter Fake News. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of Press Club of Jammu from 2015 to 2022.

     
  Dinesh Mahajan

Dinesh Mahajan is yet another renowned crime and investigative journalist currently associated with the leading national Hindi daily 'Dainik Jagran'.  Mahajan started his career with 'Early Times' in 2004 and then switched over to English daily 'The Latest' then to 'Amar Ujala' . He also served as an Executive Committee Member of the Press Club of Jammu from 2015 to 2022.

     
  Govind Chauhan

A renowned name in crime reporting in J&K, Govind Chauhan began his career as a journalist with 'Ajit Samachar' way back in 1998. Currently, Chauhan is associated with 'Dainik State Samachar' and 'Navbharat Times'. He has also worked in newspapers like 'Amar Ujala', 'Dainik Bhaskar', 'Dainik Jagran', 'Early Times' and 'Bismark'.

     
  Kunal Shrivatsa

Initially a freelancer, then a part timer and finally a full time journalist, Kunal Shrivatsa has managed to make a creative space for himself in the media circles of J&K. Shrivatsa, who has 17 years of vast experience in journalism, is currently associated with J&K's leading English daily 'Early Times' as a Special Correspondent/ Senior Sub-Editor. He has also worked in 'JK Channel' as an anchor and 'JK Newspoint' as a reporter.

     
  Nishikant Khajuria

Nishikant Khajuria is a Senior Journalist having professional experience of more than two and half decades. Khajuria began his sojourn as a scribe way back in 1996 with J&K's leading English daily 'State Times'. He also worked in English daily 'JK Newspoint' as Editor and local news channel 'JK Channel'. Presently, he is associated with the largest circulated English daily of J&K 'Daily Excelsior' as a Special Correspondent. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of Press Club of Jammu from 2015 to 2022.

     
  Vishal Bharti

Senior journalist Vishal Bharti is active in journalism since 2000 and presently working as Bureau Head for UNI from Jammu. He is an acclaimed journalist of credentials who owns to his credit a lot many investigative stories from the field of sports, defence, politics and crime. He also served as an Executive Committee Member of Press Club of Jammu from 2015 to 2022.
